Amanda Bossard, fresh out from Anchorage High School the year 1992, began her studies in marine biology. Bossard began her commercial seafood career in 1999 when she was hired on board the ship F/V Sunset. This 65' schooner, which was transformed into a salmon tender was owned by Murat Aritan. Aritan has been involved in commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard who is engaged to Aritan she has joined forces in order to claim their respective industries. Both of them are proponents of conservation and maximizing the use of natural resources that are used in the seafood industry. In 2007, now a mother to two kids Bella aged 3 as well as Andre 1 Bossard before returning to her home in Philadelphia, opened a direct market wholesale distributor of seafood named Otolith. She and her husband are separated by 5 months and more for her to concentrate on her finances as well as her environmental goals. Bossard together with Isabella and Andre (ages 12 and 10 respectively) return each year, from July to August in Southeast Alaska for the summer harvest of wild salmon.
